Plate tectonics

Plate tectonics are in our life and are on the earth today. Plate tectonics is a theory of geology that's made in order to explain, observed evidence for large-scale motions on the Earths lithosphere. These plates move about a few centimeters a year. They usually move away from each other but rarely move parallel from each other. Out of these plates there are only two types of plates, oceanic plates and continental plates. An oceanic plate is a plate below sea level, and continental plates are plates above sea level. There are very little differences between continental plates and oceanic plates. Continental plates are made of sediments and volcanic rocks which make them thick. Oceanic plates are made of a certain type of volcanic rock, which makes it thin.
For space the plates need to fight. There are three ways that the plates could win a fight. One is when the oceanic plates fights itself. This would cause one plate to give and one will go under and one will go on top. Two is when oceanic plates and continental plates fight. The oceanic plates are thinner so it will go down. And the continental plates will go up because it is thicker. Lastly the continental plates fight continental plates. These plates were so thick that if they collide they will not give up and become mountains. their is a huge wild fire tretining two towns. this happeded in waycross, Georgia. april 27 friday 2007. people in these towns, hundreths, were unable to go back home. about sixteen miles of hiway was already burned. this all started behind people houses where there were miles and miles of forist, trees, plants, and more. this was very devistating when i first read about in on cnn.com.

Shooting in vergina tec.
A tragic amergency in verginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, located in Blacksburg, Verginia, southwest of Roanoke on the date of April 16, 2007. A student, by the name of Cho Seung-Hui, open fired and shot and killed thirty two people. In my opinon 1 is too many. i also herd this morning that Cho Seung-Hui was killed by eather shooting himself or the cop shooting. The investigators do not know if he was working alown or with a partner.

In class we are learning about energy waves. If the waves go up and down then it is an transverse wave and if the waves go from side to side it is an longitudinal wave. The highest point of a transverse wave is called the crest and the lowest poing of the transverse wave is the trough. Throughout the longitudinal wave there is the compression which is when the coils are close together and the rarfaction is when the coles are farther apart. The waves are caused by vibrations. The material through which the waves travle is called a medium. There are more then one mediums. There are gasses (such as air), liquids (such as water), and solids (such as the earth).

DNA

in class we were seperating DNA from stawberries, peas, and unions. it was interesting how u saw more DNA in the stawberries then the peas and unions. we did this because we needed to look at DNA for our diagram. it was slimy looking. the only problem was that the unons had too many chipings. So when i was looking at the unions i thought that the chippings were the DNA. we also had a fun time working with mis. Erdrich's kid.

sciectests believe geysers could be exploding because of some radeoactivity in the icy moons of Satern. Last year the pictures from a space craft showed yellow spots which looked like glacures. last year a research team published a study that cast doubt on the existence of water near Enceladus surface. Enceladus possesses the necessary ingredients to support life:
- a stable heat source.
- organic materials.
- liquid water.

GM foods

GM foods
there are many GM foods. GM tamatos are not alowed in the united states. GM food could actually be a threat. it can cause deseeses and may also take away. GM foods are created a very interesting way:
Firstly the farmers put fungus in the soil.
Secondly they put the corn in the fungus.
Next, they see the individual plants grow to see what the fungus did.
Fourthly they take the seeds from the corn plants.
Fifthly they see how the seeds and how it did with the fungus.
After they see how the plants did they look at the performance against the fungus over the years.
Lastly they plant the corn seeds, which had survived, and they think will be the best to produce once again.

In space a killer astroid amerges. At least 3,300 feet in diamiters. It could almost kill man-kind. The scientests think that it is just like the dinasores. The astronomers spotted atleast 769 asteroids and comets. a good enough telescope to look at many astroids it would cost about $800 Billion dollers.

More then ten meaters larger then the largest animal found. Found in 2003. Weighed 300kg when found. The fish was found in New Zealand in the Ross Sea. it was transfered to a place in Timaru. first colosll squid was dicribed by finding two tenticals in a sperm wale. They eat tooth fish. If you make calamary out of the fish it will be the sice of tracktor tires. it took so lont to pull the fish aboard that he was bairly alive.
